CompTIA Network+ is a strong fit for anyone working toward a networking or IT infrastructure career — help desk and support techs looking to move up into network or systems administration and career-changers breaking into IT for the first time.

Employers routinely list Network+ as a baseline requirement for network administrators, systems administrators, and IT support roles, and the certification may satisfy training and education requirements for certain government and defense-related IT positions.

While not required, earning the CompTIA A+ certification first is a smart step before tackling Network+. Some hands-on networking experience is also strongly recommended.

WIOA Funding

Maryland residents who are unemployed or underemployed may be able to fund their training through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). A number of our programs, including this one, have been approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) for WIOA funding — support intended to help individuals build new skills and earn credentials on the way to a new career. Applications for this funding are handled through the state’s network of One Stop Career Centers.
